About The Artist
Burna Boy is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer. His sound is mainly pop and acrobeats. He describes his music as Afro-fusion, which blends the genres R&B, dancehall, hip hop and reggae.
In 2019, he was nominated for Best World Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. He won Best International Act at the 2019 BET Awards, and was announced as Apple Music Up Next artist that year. He was awarded African Artist of the Year at the 2020 Ghana Music Awards.
In 2020, Burns Boy’s Fifth album won Best World Music Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, followed by best Best International Act at the 2021 BET Awards.
His sixth album released in 2022 became the highest debut of an African album on the Billboard 200 chart. In October, Burna Boy was awarded the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic plaque for his achievements in music, and he’s included on Rolling Stone’s list of greatest singers of all time.
